High Yield Analyst

Reputable financial institution based in the city is looking for a High Yield analyst ideally from the sell side. You will have focused on the European market both primary and secondary. Key areas of interest for our client is hiring an individual who has in-depth understanding of high yield, distressed and structured credit bonds. Outline of the role below

The candidate should have a background in high yield and distressed research, sell side  experience preferable 
A group of established relationships with buy side analysts and portfolio managers is a requirement. Looking for creative, entrepreneurial individuals with strong analytical, writing, and oral presentation skills.
A specific industry background is not a requirement, but familiarity with natural resources and industrials is a plus. 
Familiarity with the U.S. bankruptcy process is preferable (but a formal legal background is not necessary).
The role is best described as “published desk research”.  Our client is looking for a candidate who has the ability to analyze a variety of credits in a variety of sectors, and put that analysis in a published form for broad distribution. 
Our clients’ business model is to produce action-oriented, opinion-based research on a timely basis.  Analytical approach is to assess the entire capital structure of a particular issuer and identify the most attractive value within the capital structure, whether that be at the senior secured bond or leveraged loan level, the unsecured debt level, or the equity. 
The client does not place an emphasis on broad sector research or “maintenance” research.  Instead, adopt a event-driven model where they compensate the analysts on the basis of productivity and generating research ideas that can be a catalyst to trading activity.
